The Collaborative Reform Initiative Technical Assistance Center (CRI-TAC) is pleased to provide this no-cost, online (asynchronous) course exclusively to small and rural agencies. This Northwestern Center for Public Safety course provides officers with the critical foundational skills needed to succeed in crash investigations. The course will be offered 2 days per week, and participants can attend live, or watch the recording at their convenience. Projects and exams will be held asynchronously. The curriculum includes: comprehensive introduction to crash investigations; collecting information from drivers and witnesses; measuring, mapping, and creating diagrams; vehicle inspection protocols and procedures; traffic engineering basics; and the importance of crash data collection.
Please note that registration does not ensure selection. Participants will be selected with priority given to smaller and rural agencies, particularly those without other credentialed crash investigators.
